I finally got my hands on a Google Chromecast device today (had to go to the US to get one) and managed to display a Storyline project on my tv. Chromcast is a nifty device, about the size of a USB drive. Once set up, it lets you display what’s on your Android phone or Chrome browser window on a tv screen. The idea is ingenious:
1. plug Chromecast into an HDMI port on my tv
2. install the Chromecast app to configure the device
3. launch the Chrome browser
4. Install the Chromecast add-on
and bam, you can display your browser window on a large tv screen! There is nothing else to do, it was THAT simple.
In addition to desktop/laptop, iPad and iPhone, this is yet another option to view your Storyline content. And at $35, Chromecast is a bargain compared to AppleTV.
Here is a snapshot of a Storyline project, displayed on a Mac laptop, an iPad, an iPhone and a 44-inch tv.
