I usually use Xcode, the iOS software development kit (SDK) and its simulator to view and then record native or hybrid apps for iPad/iPhone. If you don’t have an Apple developer account and just need a simple solutions to record what’s happening on an iPad or iPhone screen, check out Reflection. This simple app for both OS X and Windows uses the AirPlay feature in newer iOS devices to mirror the device screen to your desktop. I find the app rather pricey ($14.99 for a single seat license), but it’s convenience that you pay for. Now, if I could only find a similar tool for Android!
